I'm Fumi, a designer who balances big-picture strategy with pixel-perfect execution. Passionate about human-centered design, I strive to break down barriers through technology, amplifying unheard voices and fostering inclusive innovation.
My journey into design was sparked during my undergraduate program when I had the opportunity to try a newly invented electric wheelchair with a sophisticated interface. A mishap left me caught between the wheelchair and a step, making me realize the profound impact of design on safety and trust in emerging technologies. This moment shaped my passion for bridging user needs with emerging technologies while ensuring inclusivity and reducing social stigma.
With global experience in startups and established companies, I lead design initiatives that drive innovation and impact. Specializing in product design and human-technology interaction, I thrive in emerging tech like AI. I'm eager to tackle new challenges in innovation, accessibility, and UX—whether as a solo designer or part of a dynamic team.
As my passion strongly lies in democratizing emerging technology through participatory design practices, it was an honor to contribute to the field of child-computer interaction as part of the UW Kids team.
I'm excited to bring the design workshop facilitation skills I honed through this experience to your team!
